ARTIST STATEMENT

My definition on beauty stems from the reality that unfortunate circumstances shape us to become who we are. 

Using the visual symbolism of hanakotoba, the art of assorting meaning to flowers, allows me to express emotions in a subtle, even hidden form. 

Influences in comic and manga culture which I grew up admiring and imitating figure greatly in my imagery, and reflect my progression from an illustration to fine art practice.
